What a shame. The NSW Govt has allowed itself to be bullied into destroying the Gas industry in NSW by a small group of people for few of what might happen at the next election. Shame on you.

I am sure that AGL would have thought long and hard about the action they have take. AGL started life in 1837 as the Australian Gas Light (AGL) company and the first gas street lights were turned on in 1841. Their beginning was based on gas in NSW - it is a big part of their history.

Although AGL didn't say anything about the NSW Govt in their press announcement, you can read between the lines as their action will speak louder than words.

Good luck NSW Govt in seeking other companies to invest in Gas exploration in your state. Highly unlikely unless they want to throw away the hard earned money of investors against uncertain support from the NSW State Govt.
