I would think from the vertical wells already fractured Beach/ Icon/ Chevron would have a pretty good idea of what sort of rates they would be expecting from the horizontal wells; from memory they have already fractured the REM section in the vertical wells, the horizontal well will be an extension of this.
So you would think they would be able to extrapolate from this what the flow rate should be for the horizontal REM section - but saying that, I don't think it is an exact science and it will take them a while to refine the process and get a further understanding of the geology and how best to fracture the wells in order to get the maximum flow rates out of them.
But that is not really market information they are going to share until they have the results back so it is really just a waiting game from here. But I think we can take some comfort in the fact that Chevron has come in as a partner and are putting there cold hard cash on the table.
