    Came across this on an oil and gas thread and wondering whether it has applications to geothermal. It seems like it should be one way of guaranteeing or improving circulation, perhaps allowing circulation in areas where the fractures are not well aligned or absent (e.g. sedimentary rocks). Perhaps one day u-shaped holes a possibility?

    Any thoughts on this - I haven't seen it mentioned before in a geothermal context. Perhaps too difficult at these depths or too expensive?
