Its 2020 mate. Telstra doesn't own the copper network anymore. That got to to the NBN under Turnbull's NBN (at a very generous price to Telstra).
With the coming of 5G Telstra are closer to competing openly than ever before as they don't have an infrastructure monopoly to support them. I expect a race to the bottom on price and margin compression across the sector. There's only so much premium that can be charged for a remote network most people never use and private contracts with businesses operating in remote areas (think mine sites, gas fields, and telemetry for pipelines/railways) to provide services.
