I wouldn't discount the voting power of the islamic ballot and the fact the UK has a democratic weakness in not having mandatory voting of all eligible citizens.

The Islamists will block polling booths and will threaten relatiations on boroughs if the vote goes against their demands. And the law will do nothing for fear of civil unrest and lack of courage.
