Watching recent news reports we see looters carrying off...

Watching recent news reports we see looters carrying off tv's,fridges etc when they dont have a roof over their head or electricity.
Taking food,clothing water etc in these circumstances is perfectly logical and realistic to meet basic needs of survival.

I think what we have to consider is the question of how you would feel if you were one of the ones who followed the instructions of the authorities and evacuated the city only to read of vermin stealing what is left of your belongings,to know that the police etc are turning a blind eye to it?

I think there would be plenty of people queing up to deal with the looters and I also doubt this behaviour would be unique to the US in similar circumstances anywhere in the world
