Hospitals and A2, Wasted Opportunity ripe for the picking, page-19

Make no mistake we, like all parents, would of preferred breast milk from start to finish if we could of , all the midwives and pediatricians recommend breast milk over formula every time. We like jtp, could only do 50/50 breast formula for the first 6 weeks with our first born and with the twins the trickle was barely enough for one. Even with all the help and the lactation specialists on hand you cant fight the hand nature gives you and for others to make comments and judge you without knowing your situation is so hurtful to parents that want to give breast milk for the full term but just cant for many medical and or/age related issues.

Some of the comments on this post make out formula to be some type of evil like poker machines. I am sure A2 and all other ethical formula providers would not claim their product is better than breast but if you have you use it whats wrong with marketing it from the hospital, no midwife or pediatrician is going to try to push formula if the mother can produce a satisfactory amount. Why let your competitors get a leg up on you. I noticed the supermarket shelves here have plenty of stage one formula so Australian mothers and Asian mothers overseas look like they can produce plenty of milk for initially only needing stage two and three hence the shortages in those two options. Nothing unethical about manufactures promoting their product and giving mothers the choice of formula if they need it to COMPLEMENT their breast supply or for MEDICAL reasons need it 100% after the first few weeks.
