According to the Government, when they introduced the ban on non essential surgery, it's to conserve protective and other equipment that is in short supply at the moment. We've been caught short. A side effect is that the private hospital system loses some of their income. Presumably something will have to be sorted out. Like hairdressers the Government may decide that hospitals are essential and support them.
