you bring up an interest point. Every likes trading directly cause they think its better or sexy or whatever. i'm sure we will find that the average person is better off buying an australian managed fund at an opportune time and seeing how it goes over the medium term. on the other hand doing this can kill peoples finances as per the financial planning industry within banks whereby the structure of the business is meant to keep people within funds for longer to strip fees at different levels.

i'm sure many traders would have been beaten profit wise by someone of lesser experience who didn't trade as per your friend. on the her hand allot of traders make an absolute killing while most people get their retirement savings pillaged in retail fund.
