Well said and it’s a great point about “Y” i.e. the amount of Akida technology required per vehicle (or any other product for that matter).

Pre-pandemic Ford’s annual worldwide production was roughly double that of Mercedes but their products are generally mass market as opposed to luxury offerings. Therefore I would imagine that the amount of Akida required in the average Ford would be less, so the Mercedes partnership could actually be worth more despite having lower production numbers. After all a Focus obviously has less technological features than an S-Class.

Maybe this is a false assumption, maybe Ford will use Akida in exactly the same ways that Mercedes will and be the one to generate more revenue instead. Not that it’s a competition or anything, but they’re important variables to consider when making projections.
