COVID wasn't a Black Swan event. Pandemics are outlined in the very book that coined the term. They are high impact events with moderate/high probability - i.e. they always are going happen, it's just a matter of when.
A good management team should be prepared for such events even if they can't predict when they'll occur. So you're right that there are no excuses - at least not ones we've been told about. That said, I'm still holding/buying. It is an interesting company with a unique product, and will likely weather the storm as it is hard to see the govt let it fail.
