Lurching from one extreme to another.
Albanese government adopting a "speed to capability'" focus as opposed to requiring local content in delivery, like every other nation does. Seems like this Government wants to suck at the teet of the great American master and not focus on building local industry and not having learnt at all about building Sovereign defence capability to ensure we survive supply chain crises like Covid.
Token commitment by Labor to Australian manufacturing capability but in reality their procurement policy will drive away investment.
Just buy all our missiles and subs and drones from the US and be done with the Army to counter the Great Red Yellow Threat in nuclear subs. Seems that is the gist of the DSR.
Meanwhile, can imagine Hanwha jsut walking away from a shambles of a procurement process for the IFVs.
