In fairness, with the US buying 4 units it's still very much an experimental activity, not completely immature and the Raytheon system MUST have performed as an individual unit before they moved to contract the platoon's worth. It also suggests that a vehicle mounted laser might not be as simple looking as the EOS video suggests.


The 500kW system from General Atomics probably reflects what the EOS option is given the company has called out infrastructure protection as the most immediate requirement. That means containers. It does mean there's competition in the market and EOS's probability of a win drops with every player that enters.
