i have worked at gold mines where 'mineralised waste' with a grade between 0.4 - 0.9g/t au was stockpiled and feed into the plant either at the end of the mine life, or drip feed in with high grade material too maintain an even head grade. kll have the option of feeding in the existing salts as and when the production profile allows it, most likely when there is not enough salt coming in from the harvest ponds. i would assume that eventually all of the current stockpile will go through the plant, though some are likely to be used to expand the rom pad to store the new higher grade salt.

perhaps a bigger issue is how hard the salt will get if left too long. i know my salt shaker clogs up pretty quickly without regular use and topping up (and a few grains of rice).
