Ardvark
Retail figures are clearly an important indicator as the US economy has been largley driven by consumer spending which has started showing signs of weakening.
However lower retail figures may not have a large impact on the market due to last weeks interest rate cut and the hope this further stimulates consumer spending.
But then again I could be wrong - I do not have a good record trying to second guess how the US market will respond to news.
