Imo, this decision may be proven to be so affected.

As for politicians lying, well how do you think almost every politician came to be elected?

Most lied, back stabbed and clawed their way into office imo.

So why would it be terribly different once in office?

Their ends are justified by their means ... the classic rationalised argument.
