MD at Gold Coast Sat last race, not good for the liver. Drawn 1, Robbie Dolan riding. Ordinarily would be celebrating a rails draw but not at the coast when there is any rain about and with his seemingly ingrained habit of dwelling at the start - doesn't really miss but just that fraction slow that puts him on the back foot. Not well in at the weights (true weight 51kg) against those at the top. There does look to be a fair bit of speed though, Orbysin, Stampe, Sir Warwick all likely to go forward but there are also a number of back markers that usually run on hard so chances might come down to Dolan getting him in a somewhat forward position behind the leaders before the turn. Getting $10/$11 to find out now, will be having some of that tomorrow morning with a boost (they are gone for today betting at Warrnambool) in case we get carried away on the punt on the day with multiple beers under the belt.
And for later - Gollan has nominated for the Stradbroke - would be some effort to get his rating up sufficiently to get anywhere near making that field and if by some chance he managed to do that will have some punting riches to play up on the day. Nothing like having a runner in a G1 even if you know you have very little chance of featuring in the money
