re: hotcopper, when did in start???????
My recollection was trading on the old Egoli Forum back in 1997/8 - Hotcopper had started back around 1997 from my memory - I checked it out - but it was a small quiet site - pretty much set up in the thread format that you see now. The Internet had made its way into homes in the early 1990's.
I recall the float and Harold Milnert from Egoli was looking to do the same, but the dot com crash finished that idea. The name Gully also strikes a note - but it seems so long ago now... so much has changed and yet in the years ahead of us - we will see so many more changes - even more stringent checking of posts I'm sure as litigation one day makes its way into free speech forums....
Fond memories of the dot com days being striked by this thread... Ohh for those Ecorp back at $3 and Davnet at $7 and Computershare at $17! Those were the days :-)
