Very poor effort by the heavily backed Favorite yesterday...... Deploy SR4 No2 .....(Trainer Mr G. Ryan) imo

"Deploy –rider T Angland stated that his mount, although commenced well, did not travel strongly in the early stages and for this reason he allowed Oxford Poet to cross. He said, after then shifting to the outside of Oxford Poet, he commenced to place his mount under pressure on the turn, but it was very disappointing in its failure to finish the race off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be tying up and displaying a poor post-race recovery. Trainer Mr G Ryan advised that Deploy had pleased the stable this preparation and was expected to race well. He said the gelding had pleased him in its trial on 5 February 2018, albeit it was ridden out by T Angland in the trial. Mr Ryan was advised he must provide a veterinary clearance and Deploy would be required to barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to being permitted to race again".
