Interesting that news of expanded pipeline opportunities abound at the same time takeover reviews are considered.
How much more do speculators/investors need? Even in the current environment!

Citigroup has been enlisted to advise Peptech on takeover offers that the listed Australian biotechnology group has reportedly received. Peptech informed shareholders at its 2007 AGM that unsolicited approaches by a number of private equity firms could potentially result in a takeover. At that time the company claimed that it was in discussions with a number of global and industry specialist firms. Peptech CEO, John Chiplin, says that in the period since the AGM, a number of other biotechs have expressed interest in the company. However, there is speculation that firm details of an offer will not be presented for another six months and one shareholder says there are currently no obvious buyers for the company. Peptech shares rose $A0.14 on 14 March 2007, to $A1.92.
