global warming is only a major part of the problem. the other part is the private sector runs insurance. so perhaps its time that Govts returned to the insurance market and provide a baseline coverage for those who can no longer afford to pay insurance. it might work the same way as Medicare does in that insurance companies could cover the more expensive costs above a baseline.

this could bring down the cost of insurance by removing the base from the companies payouts.

ships use ports all ports are connected to rivers

The massive problem for sea level rise and inundation is not a problem from rivers

it’s a problem for living near coasts

in a serious SLR - N Coast, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sydney, Melbourne are history

the most expensive real estate in the country will be underwater

Same for all major cities near the coast world wide

unless there’s one hell of a dyke system built

and who can pay for that? Home owners that are protected?
