    I Agree.

We moved from the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne to the Bellarine Peninsula three years ago to retire and I can assure everyone the Life Style is much better here on the Bellarine and the Medical Services much more accessible.

If you want to go to Melbourne by train it takes 55
    minutes by country train.

A great many people commute from the Bellarine and Surf Coast and Geelong to work in Melbourne daily.

If you live in the outer East or North you will travel at least 1.5 hours each way to work in Melbourne.

It is estimated another one million people will live in Melbourne in the next 15 years- so I think Geelong will be a logical place for future development to accomodate much of that growth.

I think in the medium to long term Geelong will be ok - where do you go to have a excellent international shipping terminal, International and underused airport, good rail service and Freeway ?

Geelong, in my opinion has been too reliant on Ford and Alcoa in the past.
