    Im not saying its anyones fault...but i bet you someone gets the blame shortly and who do you think joe bloggs is going to blame...themselves?
    Ahh i dont think i could get welfare friend..might earn a little too much...i just know when the bottom tier who make up the majority start getting upset with the top tier we will see trouble.
    I think the 500 mill is a bit sill myslef...if negative gearing costs tax payers 4.5 bill a year which goes to the govts coffers why not scrap negative gearing on property if the govt promises to spend 4.5 billon on public housing..infrastructure and land release.
    Then there will be no rental crisis...house prices would fall 30% so most home buyers could afford to buy and the govt might even start building more towns and cities.
    How would you feel about losing negative gearing for the benfit of people being able to afford shelter or are you too worried your investment property would fall in price?
