housing affordability the solution

    Imagine the affordability if the government said you could not negative gear. All that wealth would go into the stock market we would all be richer and so would australia - unlocking all that money in super to fund Public partnerships is the way to go - also.

    I'd be all for it - imagine how much more tax revenue the government would make and we could all get tax cuts for work income.

    If people paid lower income tax, they wouldn't need to adopt tax effective strategies such as buying houses and negative gearing them.....

    It would be political suicide though.

    I know a couple who have 30+houses and a few commercial properties (geared to the hilt)
    My dentist has 12 houses (geared up too- telling me about his tax problems)
    My friends parents have 15 houses (mostly paid off)

    Imagine unlocking that.
