    haha.. I was just about to add that living 50km away is not the answer to affordability.

    I understand that argument but I can't agree with it. The option is there but it is a lifestyle choice. Living that distance from your workplace should be because you want to live on a large block, or be close to family or because you like that town.

    If transportation wasn't such a disgrace then I could agree that some of the 'affordable' suburbs on the outskirts is a viable option, but our transport system is 10 years behind where it should be.

    IMO that argument is an easy excuse for 'affordable' housing.
