The irony in that statement is surgeons are not earning as they have had to cancel elective surgeries.

What was behind the 500 drs today writing a letter about lockdown .... I would suspect these to be specialists and surgeons whose bank accounts are shrivelling not sound medical decisions.
IMO the professions are looking vulnerable, doctors (surgeons,specialists) Bankers mid tier, Partner Consulting and Lawyers all being laid off either quietly or in a Big Bang like EOFY.
As you say the metrics the ABS use are screwed, the run up to Christmas is going to be different for a lot of the populace
