    yes all you have said is true, my point being houses are volatile in their own way, which is very different to shares.

    the majority of house purchases (i dont have stats on it), would be buy for the long term, simply because of entry and exit costs. Short term holdings would most likley be in the minority.

    Out of sheer interest, are the majority of share trades long term buys (ie longer than 5-7 years)?
