    In my opinion property is a slow motion version of the stock market (albeit a bluechip stock).

    It has booms (accumulation), market tops (we are in one now - an event which is similar to throwing a brick in the air - for a brief period of time the brick stops motionless at the top of its rise appearing to defy gravity) and then we have the retrace. The bottom will be after the panic that marks the end of the distribution and matches the panic to get in on the way up.

    What will cause it? Something always does.

    But I have the immortal quote amongst my favourites for trading as follows:

    "There was never a boom that didn't bust."

    This won't be the first one no matter how hard those long may wish.

    If people are long property for the long haul and/or owe no thing on it then they really wont care.

    Everyone else, well.... :-)

    ps Good time to transfer property to lock in current values if you might want to record a loss on the sale in the next year or so imo.
