Warnie you view is shared with others it seems.

The flat property market (in fact very slightly rising not taking inflation into account) is expected to begin moving again in the latter part of 2008. In my chosen locations they are forecast to increase along with the increase in infrastructure that is occurring and planned (pays to do research :).

Very interesting to listen to Craig Turnbull yesterday predicting a surge in property investment again across Australia when/as the share market slows and people redirect funds. He also shares your view that the property price increases won't be as high as the last few years. His view is interest rates will not reach the heady heights we have seen previously under labour a view my accountant shares (he specialises in property investment).

I will be using my usual plan when my fixed rates progressively expire. I watch the market generally and wait for a signal to either fix or run with variable or fix in part (an option that has served me well in the past.

All my investment loans are interest only, also has served me very well.
