Move to the country, maybe not a regional centre but a smaller town or village within striking distance of some work, of which there's heaps. You'll be welcomed, you'll get work.

There's a place called Corowa that has; a hospital, an airport, a 27 hole golf course, a movie theatre, Coles and IGA, a bowls club, a footy and netball club, a cricket club, an RSL, a swimming centre, the Murray River, wineries nearby, Lions and Rotary, Men's shed, a speedway across the river all with a population of less than 6k.

There's many towns sprinkled around NE Vic and Sthn Riverina with affordable housing. There's cheapies around well under $300k, you get to up to $400k and there's 4 bedroom homes available. Most of the entertainment is cheap or free and within walking distance, the lifestyle is great. On the outskirts of these places you can find homes looking out onto farms and the bush, and the locals do the right thing as it's their town too.

I've been to Melbourne recently and I don't know how you can live in the 'burbs, it's so busy. A huge mortgage, driving on roads that are choked and with a day at the footy akin to a military exercise, and everything and everywhere you go, costs, there's always someone with their hand in your pocket ... no thanks!

    Just a thought...
