Maintenance is an overhead. If you are running a successful business, you need to advertise & employ staff (you could be one of the staff) as part of overhead, but at the end of the day the owner of any successful business will always make money after tax & expenses, this is called net profit. Then they can afford any luxury they want like holiday, nice cars, private schools, etc.

200% property value increase, lets say over 15 years since 2004 including all the expenses over the years, peoperty owner still making more than 100% profits. If you are renting since 2004, you get nothing, only expenses.

The simplest way is just to rent & work for someone. But, you get nowhere in long term.
