Lets say,...your in your latter years, so your not prepared to risk it in shares as your to old to make it back if it dies, so you invest it in the bank and if your lucky you get 2% - around $20,000 per year = you wont be in party mode.

Forget about the pension, or leg up's or back up, as your on your own and have to eat your 1 mill first.

So the incentive, blow what you have and become a parasite as there is no being half way etc.
You need millions or bugger all.
