The problem with saying that "the government should do this", "central banks should do that"... Is that no one cares what we think. You can either play the game and benefit, or sit on the sideline and complain about the rules.
I too wish we could go back to boom/bust cycles, much easier to make money. But a lot of people suffer greatly in the bust cycles. So is it wrong for governments to try and avoid that...??? Time will tell. So far you'd have to say it is right. But will the the big bad debt monster come back and bite us...???
