Overseas students have different taxation rule from normal Citizen/PR, but you don't get benefits like citizen/PR do. You won't get chased by the ATO for not paying small taxes. I know most foreign students don't pay their taxes working par time & leave as soon they finish UNI. Many have debts & just fly away... at worst, they just get bad credit/blacklisted from entering Australia. They don't care, they just go back to China/Malaysia/Singapore for good when they graduate. Now, I start to understand your mentality.
