The 10% average was concocted by the 'industry experts' and perpetuated by the local hotcopper gurus, who have mostly left or are hiding in the shadows becuase they claim/thought the discussions were being derailed by people like me because i told them their shite was exactly that.
Their favorite line - "a correction is healthy, but its only usually around 10%".
And my favroite from one or two of them.."if i bought a property and it went up 10%, then it corrected by 10%, i wouldnt have lost and money as i'd be back to where i was".
