As that chart clearly shows, Australia is leading the world in household debt-to-GDP. Australia is also leading the world in household debt-to-income. The credit fuelled binge of recent decades has created a housing bubble of historic and epic proportions. As history has repeatedly shown, the resultant housing crash and banking crisis with be proportionate.
