how about a merger?

While we’re waiting on the Shell result I thought I might throw into the forum an idea I had a few years ago that may be more relevant now. It is purely hypothetical but I believe has some merit.

What about the possibility of a merger between FAR and Sun Resources (SUR)?

The two companies are already JV partners in numerous projects in both Australia and the U.S. The synergies from a merger would reduce costs and continue to provide good revenues.

Both companies have strong cash positions and income streams.

Whilst FAR has company-making potential in Senegal, SUR has the same potential in Thailand and to some extent Malta.

After merging, success from any or all of the projects would result in an international oil/gas producer with interests in Australia, the U.S; Asia and Africa.

FAR has a market cap of $47 million. SUR has a market cap of $21 million.

The advantage of merging sooner rather than later would be the security of diversity should any of these projects fail to deliver.

Only hypothetical, of course but would be interested in any comments.
