Goldencross,
I too have held sigma shares for well over a year, since they were trading well over $1. It really does get very difficult to see sip shares falling while the rest of the market goes flying. I am a student without a heap of money, and had thrown a good chunk of my portfolio into sigma thinking it was a safe investment. I have put down the money that I have lost in sip (or will have lost once I sell) down to experience and a good lesson. Afterall, education never comes free! My only concern is now if the aspen sale does go ahead, and the sip shares finally start heading north, every man and his dog is going be trying to get out. I am hoping that doesn't have too much of a negative impact on the price, and we can get out at a reasonable price.
Lesson learnt - have a trade plan (including a stop loss): if things go to crap (aka sigma), swallow pride and stick to that plan!
Good luck to all holders - short termers and especially, long termers
cheers, b
