GC, I'm very much enjoying your posts- informative too, given that I don't have market depth- wow, there's certainly some big buying going on there. I note Orbis recently increased their holding, from the most recent SIP ANN.
I am not sure what lead to the massive share price fall you spoke of. Here's a ikipedia entry on SIP, though, that looks to b3e written by someone with a grudge. for your cringe/entertainment:

Your email and response from Rosemary was helpful. Feb or March capital return, eh... there's quite some time between now and then- I wonder what the SP will be... I still get tempted by this share, and it's the only one I want to go down, really (sorry long-term holders), so I can buy more- maybe. I am going to hazard a guess that the court case will be a separate matter to the capital return- if buyers were worried about a court case ruining SIP, then why would they be buying up so big now?
I bought SIP at 45c several months ago, thinking it was not a bad way to make around 20%, when the takeover was meant to be 55c. We've all thrown around capital return figures that the media have used, but if it is a *minimum* of 55c we get back, and that's what I'll assume for safety, then if the SP gets much cheaper, it might be worth me buying some more. This share does scare me, though. :D It's trouble.
