So who do they have? Clearly not Turnbull. Apart from him being of the left, he does not have the mongrel in him. Joe looked good for a while but is damaged goods. Julie Bishop has done nothing wrong but to be PM you must prove yourself in a more rough'n'tumble portfolio.
So that leaves us with Chris Pyne. There is a lot of fight in that little dog.
This would have been heresy a little while ago but Abbott does not have the political judgement needed. He said too much during the election campaign because he wasn't confident and now can't deliver. Whatever confidence he may have had has now been shattered.
For the good of the nation we need a DD. It may not be best for the libs, so be it. We need to hit reset and start with a clean slate and a new mix in parliament.

I would put Morrison up as a potential leader.
The budget needs to be resolved, the key sticking points can be put aside for the time being and can be taken to an election, (whether that means a DD or at the end of this term, I don't think it matters).
