These alternates might be more accurate than the BOM and/or they may well be relying on feeds from the BOM, but my point/question is more about the BOM itself - are there any KPI's publicly available on just how accurate they are? All this historical data and where/how is it crunched for accuracy? Bloody big job, but pretty important when one considers how many people rely on it.
Its great to look at alternatives, but surely we need to start by determining whether our taxpayer funded service is providing meaningful data and/or whether it is overcooked and/or whether we are better off using alternate services for at least part of what BOM does?
