I recall reading about a comparison to determine which will be more accurate. Either as per BOM forecast or simply "tomorrow will be the same as today".
Apparently over a one year period, "tomorrow wil be the same as today" had a better success rate. :)
I don't know if true or an urban myth, but based on my own observations over the years I would think it quite feasible.
