They go further than that. When they first opened we got some really cheap Nescafé Blend 43. I don’t think it was a brand rip-off but, it tasted like, well, not quite like but approaching, some other brown stuff. It was undrinkable. Close examination showed it was made in Indonesia, rather than wherever the Cole/Woolies/IGA/7/11 produce came from.
Ever since I’ve been fighting a battle with ‘er indoors about going to Aldi. Every now and again she sneaks some home, tray of apricots sour and unripe, baked beans (if they’re not Heinz, they’re not) etc.
Poor Indonesians. We know why they flogged their stuff off cheap to Aldi!
