BTM good to see there are rational minds out there.
The sandalwood trees do require more work to establish but that is what you expect when there is greater returns on offer. For a start it is a 2 year planting regime. First year you plant the hosts and the second year you plant the parasite which is the sandalwood.
There is a heap of information at the following website which is for the Australian Sandalwood Network (an Australia wide grower group). The old newsletters are particularly interesting and full of grower accounts and orchard pictures:
