Share placement to holders, are messy, drawn out over 6 weeks, bring in day traders who play the dates, are more expensive as they involve underwriters, and all of the above often means the company takes their eye off the ball.
Hell, if you want moreshares, go and buy the flippin things on market!!!! Easier, often cheaper, less messy.
In a month's time holders will have forgotten this share issue ... and rightly so!
