I've criticised the Labs for increasing GHGs and installing insufficient renewable energy storage.
they've ignored nuclear energy as if it just cannot/will not be allowed in Aus. but clearly we need a suitable replacement for baseload coal-fired generation..... I initially thought renewable energy could provide all we needed, but its clear that so many of the 24/7 renewable generation is not being adopted or, like green hydrogen, has proven impractical, too expensive (just see the costs of time blow outs on Snowy 2) and limited to standard solar panel arrays, Lithium batteries (short term provision of electricity) and wind turbines.
and mining approvals have included CSG which should be banned because of the severe environment damage and the fugitive emissions, and extended coal mining. this will increase our methane emissions drastically..... I say drastically because as the largest wasters of electricity in the world, we don't need to increase our methane emissions. any increase is "drastic" and very poor outcome for our nation.
BUT. on economics and fiscal management the Labs have done 'alright'.... no great shakes, no magnificent victories and, including the S3TCs in a modified form, have enabled a substantial increase in disposable revenue.
and on foreign affairs, Wong has remediated the relationships with Pacific Island nations, China and many other nations and leaders that our previous Lib Govt came to grief over. they even managed to re-establish our trading relationships.
The Independent. has listed 19 key measures that have improved over the last 2 and ¾ years. **promotion blocked**/politics/politics-display/feeble-defence-from-abc-confirms-abject-failure-to-report-labor-accurately,19300
given we're soon to have an election, its worthwhile getting factual information on how the Labs have done. we all know how badly the previous 3 Govts did and this is an indication of the potential of a Dutton-led LNP Govt.
so what do you see are the Lab weaknesses and/or strengths?
how do these stack up against a possible Dutton Govt?
