If you're trying to be sarcastic and show us that the sky is indeed not falling in, then you'll have to go much further than the examples you have given because during the last decade we had much worse natural and man made events than what you suggest.
Or have you forgotten 9/11 and the 2005 tsunami. That stuff can't happen right?
