The report also says that indigenous sources of gas would be beneficial from a security of supply perspective as well as adding to economic growth. The UK is importing more than half of its gas needs. Storage is not a priority because of what looks like a little overconfidence from the govt in its ability to forecast “black swan events” (I live in Australia....all our swans are black). Do you really want old folks freezing to death in their homes if the govt gets that wrong? Because, as we all know, civil servants are excellent at predicting the future.
As to the delay in fracking. I thought you would be delighted that Cuadrilla are taking their time to get it right.
