As a ballpark estimate,about 300,000 of Australia's 9.8 million dwellingsare likely to be left vacant annually (or about 3% of homes). For the last five years, about 153,000 new dwellings have entered the market each year. Hence, these vacant homes represent about two years of new supply.

And are these 'empty' houses owned by Australians or 'visiting' Chinese, which means many Real Aussies are unable to buy a home to which they are rightly entitled.
