In 2015/2016 Face book marketplace wasn’t what it has become over the last 12 months. Facebook marketplace has totally taken over from the juggernaut of Gumtree in terms of people selling unwanted house hold goods, tools, boats etc. people have now used it and are happy to continue using it to sell their car for free advertising. Facebook will continue to offer market place as a free service as it gets people to engage with the platform and then facebook/meta makes money advertising to those people while they’re there. When dealers get their marketing people to do some work and utilise the full potential of Facebook to target specific market segments, trust me they will be looking to decrease their over spending on underperforming campaigns.
Chris60 Comparing Facebook marketplace being better to sell a car than Carsales with Domain and it’s ability to compete with realestate.com is not really an equal comparison.
Woollydog There are scammers everywhere I have definitely seen them on car sales and facebook. I believe finally most of the general public are becoming aware to most of tactics that are being used.
